The match head mainly contains potassium chlorate, manganese dioxide, sulfur and glass powder.There is a small
amount of paraffin wax on the match stick.The friction layer on both sides of the matchbox is composed of red phosphorus and glass powder.
The main process of match fire is:
(1) when the match head is paddled on the matchbox, the resulting heat causes the phosphorus to burn
(2) the heat released by phosphorus combustion causes the decomposition of potassium chlorate (manganese dioxide catalyst)
(3) oxygen and sulfur reaction of potassium chlorate decomposition
(4) the heat from the sulfur reacts with the oxygen to ignite the paraffin, which eventually causes the match rods to catch fire.
